Both of these young blueliners are having a slow start this year but have shown consistency in the past, both inching past the 40 point threshold on more than one occasion. Who do you think is the better own this year? Who is the better own in years to come?

Hamilton for both this year and future; he is bigger, stronger and by time Giordano begins to decline enough to be moved off top pair he will be entering prime around age 26; ready to take over the D corps. He has also started coming alive only matter of time before the goals start coming.

Hamilton for me too. I don't think Krug has another level, he is what he is, whereas Hamilton still has some upside IMO

Hamilton, I think this is the year he takes the nest step... even after a slow start.

Do you think Krug duplicates his shot total? Looks like he's putting up plenty of shots now, though not scoring off them. Shot totals drive offensive stats for Dman. If Krug can put up near 250 shots, I can see him handily hitting 15 goals this year, even with the slow start. He shot a ridiculously low .016 pct last season!!

Krug definitely has some value, I think Hamilton is just more well rounded and has more certainty in the production.

I agree Hamilton is the better long term keeper but he seems buried behind Geo, Brodie and now even Wideman for PP time. Watching the last few games he is second PP and 3rd D pairing. I am not sure if he makes the cut into my top 10 keepers so I am primarily looking at his production this year. Yes, last game he nabbed 2 goals and an assist but none on the power play. In fact, he had only 33 seconds on the PP that night while Wideman had over 3 minutes. Hoping this is just early season jostling but it is concerning.

Krug on the other hand gets top D pairing and top PP.

Just some observations. The Krug owner just sent me a message this morning asking me if the Hamilton for Krug deal was a go. Haha. I think I will hold off for now, especially with Hamilton getting 6 points in his last 5 games, but I am still hoping Hamilton gets the ice time he deserves again soon.
