Tad below Risto... great value for ANA.
I wonder if this was before or after last night's game... (i.e. Did Hampus feel the pressure when he saw that ANA seemed fine without him?!)

Regardless, should be great for team & especially Gibson's numbers.

How are they making the cap room???

So where does Fowler land? Any guesses?

Off the top of my head, I'd guess CAR for a midlevel prospect and a 3rd.

Great signing for ANA. Now we wait in anticipation of the move to follow... Fowler is at a great market high to deal now too.

    I could see NJ.
They lack a solid 3D to keep (Severson?... Merrill?...)

As expected, the Ducks wanted him below Risto's deal and they got it.

    From CapFriendly on Twitter:

Hampus Lindholm's new contract & $5.25M AAV, puts the #Ducks roughly $1.4M over the ceiling. Meaning additional moves still likely coming.

Etem was placed on waivers yesterday & Tokarski was recalled. If both are returned to the #Gulls, the #Ducks would save $1,252,778 in space.

I really hope the Leafs are talking to Anaheim about Fowler. The teams have a pretty extensive history of dealing with one another, and the Leafs have a number of pretty solid prospects in the system now (Which is really weird to say) that could be used.

Some of us would cry if they shift Theodore back down.
They show (8)D on their roster.

Top 4: Lindholm, Vatanen, Fowler, Bieksa
    Bottom 2/4: Stoner ($3.3m), Theodore ($863*), Manson ($825), Holzer ($700k)

leafs can't afford to give up the assets required to land a top 4 D like Fowler. they would easily get outbid by teams more desperate for D in win now mode.

just keep developing the young kids and hope you can draft liljegren next year to play with reilly on the top pairing

That was another terrible signing by the Panthers. I love Ekblad but that cap hit is ridiculous.

    about time

wonder how long it will take him to get into game shape. Fowler and Vatanen have been on fire so far this season, so bad time for him to hold out (for us fantasy owners).

Nice signing. Hopefully the Ducks do not have to make their D worse by keeping both Bieksa and Stoner, but we all know Fowler is the likely one moved. But who knows, the way Fowler has been playing maybe the Ducks move Vatanen?
