Pretty nuts how Dexter Fowler is going to be the first African-American to play for the Cubs in a World Series, if he indeed leads off.

I would think as well that it will be a first for any non American player to play in a world series game for the Cubs. 1908 was a very long time ago.
What a run the city of Cleveland is on though. A basketball (NBA) championship. A hockey, (Calder Cup) championship and now a chance to win a baseball (World Series) championship . Not bad for a city not known for its winners.

The Indians were worse in the 90s for choking, considering it was more difficult (I’m assuming) to get to the WS in the 90s vs the ‘10s-40s
They made the playoffs (and were really good) in ’95 (world series loss), ’96 (ALDS lost), ’97 (world series loss), ’98 (ALCS loss), ’99 (ALDS Loss), ’01 (ALDS loss).
