Hey Guys,
Basically just need to know what you think of Matheson. Should I pick him up and drop the likes of Jones, Ceci, or Savard?
I could also drop someone like Tatar.

I would hold Jones over Matheson, but I would also be worried about losing out on Matheson in the future because he looks like he could be pretty special. But Jones should still be a little higher value at this point IMO.Originally Posted by Stewpaloop

I would absolutely cut Ceci for Matheson.

Yes, drop Ceci or Savard easily. He could put up more pts than Jones...Werenski is getting most of the PP time in Columbus and CBJ are pretty bad team.

I just want to say that this thread was incredibly useful as I have/had a similar dilemma of picking up Matheson and dropping Ceci or Hutton.
We only get two Free Agent pickups per season so I'm thinking I'll jump on the chance of claiming Matheson before he gets more attention.
Plus, I have Ekblad so there is a bit of an insurance policy in case Matheson starts getting more OZ starts and PP time in the next few years.

Tell me about it! It's a league of GMs who want something 'low maintenance'. I had to join another league this year just to make it more interesting!
Anyways, the waiver wire is... umm... slim pickins. There are the likes of Orlov, Connor Murphy, Maata, Zadorov and Petry, but otherwise my best use of a FA pickup is to essentially draft a rookie or prospect to stash on my bench.
Hence, why Matheson seems like a good use of a FA pickup.
Or, let's put it this way... if I drop Hutton or Ceci there's a strong chance that someone else will pick them up.

Yeah. He was playing so well. Lots of minutes and even PP time. I was surprised as well. Damn. I just picked him up last week.
