Unless LA plans on moving on from Quick (which they aren't) only starters that are rentals and make sense are Miller and Pavelec. Not much cap, if any, needs to be retained to make Pavelec work, so unless LA wants to bring in a third backup, he makes the most sense. Howard just has too much salary and term left unless Detroit gives up something big and I don't see why Hextall moves Mason when the Flyers only made the playoffs on the merits of their goalies. Could see Greiss or Neuvrith moving at the right price and both would work perfectly for the Kings as low cost and rental contracts. Cam Ward could also makes sense if Lack steps up and takes over for Carolina.

My never going to happen imagined scenario is a three-way trade of Niemi and Ritchie to LA, Martizen to the Penguins, and Murray to Dallas.

A lot of the names here make sense. We could see a wildcard come out though like Korpisalo, Ullmark, Kinkaid or even one of the two Dallas goalies if they get desperate.

The Kings cannot take anyone with term left. They also cannot really take more than $2M in salary, so if the other team eats the maximum 50%, then that player's salary cannot be higher than $4M. So I'd say that's the starting point; anyone who is UFA at the end of this season and has salary of $4M or less.

The Kings could look at acquiring someone like Enroth or Nilsson but they could also just sign Karri Rämö instead. I think that makes the most sense so my answer is: Karri Rämö.
