Injury to Quick or not, I much prefer the Gibson side. Carter is on the decline, Radulov is on the bubble. Meanwhile you have 3 young guns that are already playing like studs and that will keep on growing their game on the other side of this deal. Younger is not always better but in this case, it is

Negotiations progress. He has sent me two offers that I am inclined to decline and counter. The first is: My Quick and B.Schenn for his Gibson. The second is: My Simmonds and Quick for his Gibson and Kuznetsov. Neither of these deals gets me very excited, as I am giving up a very high quality multi-cat skater in addition to the better goalie in the deal.
Gibson is a shiny new object that has yet to seize a job full-time for himself or stay healthy for an entire season. I am intrigued by the guy and would like to acquire him in a reasonable deal, but I am not going to overpay. If Quick was healthy this would be a straight swap. So I understand I am going to have to add a kicker to get a deal done. I am thinking something like Quick and JVR or Quick and Radulov would be about the most I would pay for Gibson. I am not going to F up the painstakingly built masterpiece franchise I have constructed just to get Gibson. But I do understand its a dynasty league and the younger guys have more perceived value, so am I on the right track with the offers I want to make? Or should I consider the deals he has offered more closely?
