Who should I drop for Marchessault?

I'm in a H2H league which counts G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SOG, W, GAA, SV% and SHO. Somehow, Jonathan Marchessault is still unowned.

My lowest owned players are Morgan Rielly, Nick Leddy, JVR and Radulov. Would you drop any of those to grab March? I want to ride the hot hand, but then again, there aren't many top D in free agents which worries me about dropping Leddy or Rielly.

If there aren't many D available, then I wouldn't. It might help if you showed your full roster along with your roster size so we can get a sense of F vs D.

I wouldn't drop any of them for him. I think the other guys are the better play over the long-term.

There are players that start off hot and then disappear... I dropped someone good for Cory Conacher a few years back... and regretted it after like one week.

Though I understand why you might I guess the issue may be whether you can pick up the guy you drop when he does cool down....

Personally in leagues like this I try and have a 'waiver' spot where I just stream guys like Marchessault

No offence, but without seeing the categories in your league I wouldn't follow this advise. Rads is going to load you with peripheral stats - PIM, H and S. not to mention... he's going to settle in and out point Marchessault. - January when the troops return to Florida from the IR, guess who's losing his top line slot?

I dropped R. Strome to add him. if D are scarce, keep Leddy. and especially keep Rielly. I think you're going to have to pass on him for the time being. He's not better than what you have.

This is the 10th day of the season... remember that.

I like analogies. Sometimes when you see something shiny on the beach - you think it's money, when you get up close - you realize it's just a piece of broken glass. In those situations it's better to keep walking.

Dropping Radulov for Marchessault is insanity, imho. Trust me, as a close Habs follower, Radulov is going to explode, he's been dominating out there when he's on the ice.
