That's exactly how I tore my acl and meniscus.. Hope that's not the case.
Hard to say who will step up. Girgensons might move up the line up too over Larsson. Reinhart is a center but hasn't really played center in the NHL.
Either way, shitty luck for Eichel and the Sabres. I dont own him in any leagues but I do hope it's not serious.

Coach Bylsma: Ankle injury for Jack Eichel. He went down with a lot of pain. He'll be evaluated this afternoon.
Watching the video it looks like it’s a knee, but he doesn’t instantly go to grab his knee, looks more like ankle.
Either way, looks like a LTIR. If it’s just something small (30days?) it could be he was just scared and being his first (I dunno if it is) major twist of a knee/ankle, he could have over exaggerated. That’s not what I’m thinking tho.

Bylsma stressed the importance of not jumping to conclusions before Eichel is evaluated, but he recognized the shock of the players on the ice given the the nature of the injury and the player involved. Eichel is entering his second season after scoring 56 points as a rookie. At this point not a lot to tell," Bylsma said. "He's going to get evaluated this afternoon. I think the initial shock, you see that, but we're gonna let it calm down here and get it evaluated and see the extent of him turning his ankle there
That's a real blow to the Sabres and Okposo on the limp too. Have Eichel on my pool team which is to be submitted later today. Hope they don't take to long with the news. Was thinking about adding ROR to roster also. If Eichel is out longer term would this help or hurt ROR pts (g-1, a-1). ROR is on PP with both Jack and Okposo and ROR/Ok were to be on same line. Is it too risky with all this going on to bother with ROR...I have lots of alternatives to him...Stepan, Spezza, Hoffman, Brassard, Trocheck.
First Crosby. Now Eichel. No more practicing!!!!!
Initial diagnosis on Jack Eichel immediately after incident was high ankle sprain, but Eichel is seeing doctors/getting imaging done.

Whether there is more definitive/different diagnosis still to be seen, but for now BUF anticipates minimum 4-6 wk absence, perhaps longer.

so did anyone bet on matthews outpointing eichel?
4-6 weeks...high ankle sprain according to NHL Sirius Satellite Radio...a mid-December return is projected.
Why isn't he on IR yet?
Tim Murray said that he would likely miss between 6 to 8 weeks instead of the 4-6 weeks projected.

I can't remember which guy, but he had somebody scoring more than McDavid or Eichel.
It could be longer than initially reported him being out. 4-6 weeks could turn 6-8 weeks quickly. High ankle sprains are very nasty to heal from.
