He is firmly on my radar. For a teenager, he is super dependable in his own end - which is why he's up right now, but man o man does he have sneaky good offensive skills.
I think he's got a legit shot at pushing for the 2C in a couple seasons and might find himself on one of the top six wing spots at points during this campaign.

I'm intrigued to see how this pans out. He's obviously not keeping up this PPG pace that he's on, but I think that a 40 point season is a HUGE win for him. I think he'll level out around mid 30s.

I wonder what his long-term upside is. Could he be a 60-point guy? Much too early to tell but that goal he scored against Buffalo (or was it Boston) tells me he's got a chance at 30G. There is an opportunity available in Minny too.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
He's got an amazing release.
Would you trade him straight up for Montour?

What's the point? EE may have a higher points ceiling, and is already playing well at the NHL level. You could argue you'd get a good return right now while he's playing this well, but his realistic point production is probably high enough to make trading for Montour a lateral move at best IMO.
The Wild beat write Russo thinks highly of Ek:
-Ek's upside? #1 Center, Koivu replacement, "Scores the type of goals we don't see in MN often (his goal in Iowa and the one vs. the Sabres)", "So defensively responsible at 19 it's ridiculous"
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
If you read the recent 20 Fantasy Thoughts on SportsNet it includes EE and how highly he's regarded by Boudreau.

A year ago, I drafted Eriksson Ek 20th overall in a dynasty league prospect draft. I thought it was a decent pick, my only concern was that Brock Boeser was still available then. Well, now the pick doesn't look too bad at all. And I also drafted Boeser 24th in that same draft, so luckily taking Eriksson Ek ahead of him didn't cost me anything.
It was a pretty good draft for me. I got Blackwood at #40, Senyshyn #47 and Malgin #67 (we drafted before the NHL draft, so that's why Senyshyn didn't go any higher).
