Apparently Google doesn't know him either. I am know an expert on Phil Varone the drummer in the band Skid Row. Looks like he is on his third organization. My guess is all offence and no D. Hence why he can't stick.

Any chance he figures into Ottawa's long term plans? Or is he just "the best we've got at the minute".

Probably not. We will see if he even sticks right now. Guy Boucher is not stranger to riding a hot late bloomer like he had in Conacher

Long term on wing is more in favour of guys like Perron, Dahlen and Gagne

Conacher was the player who came to my mind as a similar case as well, but I wanted to confirm.

Varone was strong again last night. I expect him to make the opening night roster along with Ryan Dzingel.

Dzingel is having a good camp definitely outshining Puempel but my concern is that they are not putting him on a scoring line in these preseason games but rather playing him with Kelly & Neil. So Iron Sheik do you think if makes the opening night roster they will move him up the lineup?

Varone is making a case for himself and his versatility makes him desirable to the team.

Which of the two would you want for fantasy purposes for this year and the future?

Off waivers, no. I bet a bunch grabbed him in fantasy leagues though.
