It would be nice if the NHL had an equation that determined the suspension length. Like it had multipliers on categories like…
Hit from behind? 3
Along the boards? 5
Force of hit (using sensors?)? 3
Past history of suspension? 1
3x5x3x1 = 45. Then there’s a chart that has like 1-10 no suspension, 11-19, 3 games, 20-29, 4 games…..
Just something instead of how the NHL Safety Department felt that day.

End of the day it's all about $$$ Shaw's contract $5.5mil/year > Hobbs $655000/year
So it's all good in NHL books... 3games...
I think the NHL should do something more so the players feel the pain.
Example: Player A takes out Player B for 1month. Player A has to pay Player B his 1month pay as compensation.
Dirty hits will be gone in no time. *But NHLPA will never allow it*
