Simple question.
Who do you value more and why?
S.Mason or Dubnyk?
wouldn't surprise me if by mid-season it's several tiers. boudreau will make minnesota better (i think they could win the division) and mason has neuvirth to deal with. good chance they split it 50-50 this year, as opposed to duby who will get a ton of starts. and mason could easily flat out lose the starter's job. he wasn't good last year, except for that one stretch late last season, and he still lost the starter's job in the playofs.
Thanks Gents. Nothing surprising to me here.
Dubnyk by a landslide. Neuvirth may even take Masons starter job from him.

Another vote for Dubnyk and by a fairly large margin.
To me I see it pretty close, Mason is always very undervalued, but in a set up that counts saves he has very solid value, as he almost always has 30+ saves per game. Philly should be better this season with the improved D core. Mason also just two years ago put up top 5 save % and top 5 GAA which is never talked about, and that was behind a terrible Philly team.
Dubnyk is obviously solid with no threat on Minny, but at the same time Dube has only been a starter for 1.5 years...could not hold or push to start in Edmonton, Arizona, Nashville, or Montreal, so its not like he hasn't played his way out of a starting gig like he did in Edmonton numerous times.
n addition on reliability, Mason has 6 50+ game seasons at just the age of 28, whereas Dubnyk has only 2 at the age of 30.
Just my two cents.

Dubnyk for me.. I think Neuvirth has a good chance to take that starters gig..
Zorro says "vote for Dobber"
Angus is my best friend at dobberhockey..
Then Dubnyk vote but I think Mason remains number 1 in Philly
Experience is the teacher of all things.
Dubnyk for me.
Equivalent-ish teams in front of them.
Dubnyk has the better coach and (IMO) the better talent.

Dubnyk by a wide margin.
Mason is guy looking to lose a job with soft goals, who has a goalie in Neuwirth who can replace him, and has done so, as recently as the last meaningful games played by the Flyers. Addiionally, they are both under contract for the same length of time.
Dubnyk is on a better defensive team that just hired a guy who is a top-tier coach that makes teams play better.

Dubnyk & 1st round pick or Reimer & Stralman & 2nd round pick?

Hmmm... In a vacuum? Probably Dubnyk Side as Reimer has yet to become a #1 tender and Stralman may not be worth a 1st round pick..
But...
Is it a cap league?
How deep is the league?
How does your team look?
What weaknesses do you need to fill?
Far too many aspects to say at this point.
But pretty sure I take Reimer over Mason!
Lol was just a simple question in a vacuum like the start of this thread was.
