    Default Visiting Las Vegas

Heading to Vegas in November for a couple of days for work, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Is there UBER in vegas? I heard there is a monorail?

Unfortunately my days will be tied up but it looks like I have almost 3 full nights there which should be a lifetime if I don't sleep, right?

I've never been before, still not sure where I'm staying, tons of deals online right now.

    Send me some advice/stories/experiences/recommendations!

Looking for info not limited to the following:
    Best Restaurants
    Best Casino
    Best Bars

    Thanks dobberites!

Best Restuarants - Dicks Last Resort (If you have not heard of it, it is a restaurant where the Servers are 'rude' on purpose.... lots of good laughs
The PBR restaurant would be a great place to go if a PBR event is on while you are there... they have a mechanical bull that can be fun for adults and kids (if you have kids)

Side note - look for the shacks along the side of the street that have Red signs and advertise ticket sales... If you check them out you will be able to get a great deal on shows while you are there.

For a cheap steak dinner, go to Ellis Island just off the strip (flamingo and Koval behind Paris Paris). It’s like an $8 steak dinner with a beer and $20 to gamble while at this little old school casino. You just sign up for their free “membership”. Just give a fake email if they ask.

If gambling, always sign up for the casino’s membership. They give you $20 for free to gamble. You get a card, and you have to put in like $5 of your own money, but you have $20 to gamble of house money. You can’t cash out with that $20 (stays on the card) but it is a fun way to spend time without cost much. If you win and have $100 in the machine, you get $80 cash out and $20 left on the card so to speak (Only good for machine gambling).

Go to old strip, it’s fun. Don’t walk to it, just take a cab/uber because it’s apparently not the safest. When I went we had no clue where it was so we took a cab anyways.

Fat Tuesdays sells alcoholic slushies that are really good, but pretty expensive. Drinks are free when gambling, but tip because they just won’t come back to you if you don’t tip.

There are buses that you can get a full day bus that will take you to the old strip as well. and they will take you up and down the strip. Two different types... I think Blue and REd. one stops at like every casino... the other stops at every 5th or 6th casino type thing.

just got home from my bachelor party there. I liked the 5$ blackjack tables at margaritaville attached to the flamingo. check out egg slut in the cosmopolitan second floor for breakfast. we did the indoor go carting and it was a blast, the shuttle will come and get you and its only 30 bucks for 12 laps. I would recommend seeing the penn and teller show, it was about a hundred bucks but the show was really good. Its over in the Rio and the casino was nice there too.

Go see Carrot Top at the Luxor. Cheap tickets for Vegas, and absolutely hilarious.

Sign up for the player cards. Not so much for the free gambling as I don't think that really exists anymore, but you may get future deals from them to come back.

Hash House a Go Go at the Linq is decent food with gigantic portions.
Project Pie at MGM has delicious pizza's
Gordon Ramsay Steak was good too, especially the sticky toffee pudding for dessert

Just be aware that Vegas can be pretty pricey.

Casino's are all the same to me, money goes way too quick for my liking...

Freemont Street (downtown) is fun to go to for a night.

Uber/Lyft is great in Vegas. Just search for coupon codes.

According to many, the pinball hall of fame is a fun time. Just remember one key thing - many businesses in Vegas are built on trying to lure in tourists who'll likely never provide repeat patronage or won't remember if they had a lousy experience. Wherever possible, do the less touristy thing or, if you do opt for a tourist experience, go in with low expectations.

Search for deals/coupons for food.. It saves me a ton..

Flamingo is center of the strip and a great location if you can find a deal there.. The bar in their casino is an absolute great time.. Carlos and Charlies I believe it is called..

Dicks at the Excalibre is absolutely awesome.. There is a crepe place in Paris that is ridiculous..

Sit down at a slot machine and you will get a free drink, if you want more, then tip well!!

Make sure you go take your picture at the "Welcome to Vegas" sign, just south of the Luxor..

Definitely make a trip to Freemont Street, you won't regret it!!

The prime rib at the Golden Nugget is quite appetizing!!
