    Default Yahoo Daily Fantasy

Someone told me the other day that Yahoo Daily Fantasy may be open to Canadian players this year.
Can't find anything to support this though, any of you guys heard anything?

I've been trying to deposit funds for a few days and keep getting this message. Not sure if it has anything to do with being in Canada.

"Sorry, there seems to be a temporary issue. Please try again later."

Well... I had a $1 to burn from a free NFL contest I entered a few weeks ago.
With only two NHL games tonight (PHI @ MON, CGY @ CHI), figured I'd pick from a limited selection

Entered the $1 entry contest (114 entries):
    $38 Price (MON)
    $37 Crawford (CHI)

    $21 Toews (CHI)
    $18 Plekanec (MON)

$18 Brouwer (CGY) *Gotta pick a "3rd Team"
    $18 Radulov (MON)
    $14 Lehkonen (MON)

    $21 Weber (MON)
    $13 Beaulieu (MON)

*I'm curious to see if MON/CHI win (favourites) if this could get it down.
Basically banking on a 2-goal night from the Lehkonen-Plekanec-Radulov line!

With the results of the Montreal game, I'm going to be very curious to hear how you did in this one P7.

I don't think he has a chance. Might get his $1 back...

Email this morning "Congratulations, you won $8".
    2/114. (111.5... 110.0... 109.5...)
Probably anybody could verify - I go by "Pengwin7", so I'll show up near the top of leaderboard.

I was actually the leader until Anisimov scored.
Of the top 5... I was the only with Crawford - the others went with both Mason/Price (incl. the winner, who had Konecny/Anisimov/Voracek/Kane/Seabrook where I had Toews/Plek/Radulov/Brouwer/Beaulieu).
If CHI had won the shootout, I would've been 1st by a good margin... 4.5pts.

Free... became $1... is now $8.
    Rollin, rollin, rollin...

Gonna play some more with my free money.
Only about 30k people have signed up for the NBA "Free Roll" tonight.

I just gotta make some picks that ordinary people won't make.
And I know NOTHING about basketball, so this should be easy!!! [j/k]

One interesting thing I'm looking at tonight.
The NHL has various contest game-quantities for a given night.
There's an "Enter by 7:00pm EST", that includes 11 NHL Games.
There's an "Enter by 8:00pm EST", that includes 5 NHL Games.
There's an "Enter by 10:00pm EST", that includes 3 NHL Games.

Knowing that all are "G" (Guaranteed to Run), I'll probably hedge towards entering the lowest-entry pool... with the most limited players... and the least "KNOWN" players -
i.e. WEST COAST POOL with 3 NHL Games, Baby!
Reminder to Self: Enter Later Today

All I could think as I watched the MTL game was that you hedged that 2nd line at a great time!
Best of luck with the late games tonight.

Two beers at a grocery store, one beer anywhere else.

    Eff that.
I'm gonna see if I can make the "free money" climb!
We'll call this the "Free Money Challenge" - the hard part is getting in by winning a free money contest.

Peng's Tuesday Night WestCoast Line-Up ($100 Contest. $2 entry. Currently 6/57 people in):
Goalies: Anderson (OTT v.VAN), Gibson (ANA v.SJ)
    Centers: Getzlaf (ANA), Wennberg (CBJ)
Wingers: Perry (ANA) & Ritchie(ANA), Foligno (CBJ)
    Defense: Fowler (ANA), S.Jones (CBJ)

Rooting for CBJ to light up Budaj & the Kings.
ANA to put goals in against SJ (game at ANA).
OTT-VAN, hopefully a low-scoring affair a win for Anderson (OTT).
My NBA-ers for tomorrow's Yahoo DFS FreePlay:
Dragic, Ellis, Lin, Wiggins, Davis, Parker, Capela, Winslow

Well I'm back in DK now.

Put in a couple lineups for tonight, threw in a very heavy NJ team, doubt they will be drafted so just need them to put up 9 goals against Justin Peters tonight!

I read Hall (LW) might be playing with Zacha(C) & Palmieri(RW)... so hope you paired up those guys.

Thanks P7, daily faceoff has them as linemates on the 1st line, I had to look up their roster to even decide who to pick.
I think BUF is an under-drafted team tonight as well, might throw something in with those guys too!

Palmieri was a bust but I took Zajac who helped.
I went with NJ/Voracek/Pavelski/Burns - in the money now but we will see how the late games play out.

The GOOD: Well... the Anderson call was correct. OTT shut out VAN, top goalie.
The BAD: All the skaters (save Wennberg, Foligno) were awful... Corey Perry actually had 0.0pts.
The UGLY: Busy dad/husband night means I didn't check in on hockey to find out John Gibson was NOT starting. He actually did come into the game in the 2nd... AND played well... but too little too late.

Even with the complete bomb on skaters and the Gibson partial game... I finished 27 out of 47 entries.
Note: The contest did NOT fill up, which means Yahoo! did not even get their full $114 for the $100 contest, they only got $94.

Top 20 paid... and I scored 55.0pts, just short of "the money" at 57.5pts.
Had I gone with almost any other healthy goalie (Budaj, M.Jones, Bobrovsky), I would've placed.

The "Late Games" contest is definitely a good place to bet - considering Yahoo! has "Guaranteed to Run" contests that are not filling up.

Might have to try again tonight.
The 7pm contest has 4 NHL games. Right now there are 11/57 and 9/23 in those contests: incl. 7 "Veterans"
The 8pm contest has 3 NHL games. Right now there are 4/57 and 5/23 in those contests: incl. 3 "Veterans"
The 10pm contest has 2 NHL games. Right now there are 3/57 and 3/23 in those contests: incl. just 1 "Veteran", named MAMBA.

So... it definitely seems there is Eastern-cost bias towards pure entry.
And I like the odds of a contest less likely to fill up.

    More on tonight's picks later...
MON (Montoya) @ NYI (Greiss), 7pm
BOS (McIntyre) @ NYR (Lundqvist), 8pm
WAS (Holtby) @ Edmonton (Talbot), 9:30pm
NAS (Rinne) @ Anaheim (Gibson), 10:30pm
