Default Carey Price: PK Subban was too "unpredictable"

    http://www.lapresse.ca/sports/hockey...previsible.php

"All teams have a structure in place and want players to play a certain way, said Carey Price, yesterday. And depending on what we wanted, Shea [Weber] fits perfectly in there. "
"PK plays a certain way. He plays with a lot of enthusiasm and creativity. We just thought that this creativity sometimes came at the wrong time and made the unpredictable situation. "
"With Shea, we know exactly what lies ahead. He played really well defensively and it also represents a threat to the attack which everyone is aware. "

Lots of players are creative. You just have to have a system that allows them to do so. I always find these things work better when the coaches can adapt a system to whatever players he is working with instead of trying to cookie cutter every player into a certain style.

That is how life and mob-mentality works unfortunately.

If Price says something else Bergevin will suddenly be "listening to offers" for him. He knows better.

The Habs are doomed until Bergevin/Therrien stay in place.

They have a good enough roster to make the playoffs but their style of play is so out of touch with the new reality in the NHL (puck possesion, carrying the puck in the OZ/Dumping the puck as a last resort) that they will never be a contender.

    Really? Knows better?

If he were smart he'd engineer a trade out of town to a contender for his prime years...

I dont know if any of you watched that documentary series on the Habs that was on the NHL Network a couple of years ago, but it gave me the distinct impression that many of the Montreal players did not like PK very much at all.

He'd probably get dealt for Lundqvist straight-up.

Or there's the fact that TBay is looking to deal Bishop…
OR, there's also the fact that Fleury is on the block and is actually from a small town just North of Montreal. A three way trade with two goalies, and a D coming back to Pittsburgh would be one hell of a bang to start the season. Speculation is so much fun sometimes

This keeps coming up, but there's a fair bit of anecdotal "evidence" that the Montreal room was a complete disaster last season. Yes, Price was injured...but it's not a stretch to suggest there were issues with Subban beyond Therrien's dislike of his play.

Say what we want about Weber - and I'm a fan - he's, at the least, very respected by fellow players. I get the impression that's 100% not the case with PK. Hell of a player, tho

If your team can't stand your superstar, trade your team.

But that's the issue. The Habs feel they're better with Weber. Their superstar is actually their goalie. And he prefers Weber.

I get the argument. But Price is clearly the Habs superstar, ahead of PK

I agree. It is Price's team, though it was Subban's city. To the GM though, it's the room that matters more, and his easiest fix was to deal Subban.
Weber should be a great calming agent on that room.
