Assuming this is the league in your sig, I go DeAngelo just because of the higher ceiling.

I prefer Montour as a player. He's going to force himself into the NHL before long.

Montour. DeAngelo already has a big red flag in being traded by TB for much less than the 19th overall pick they used on him. Montour has better stats in the AHL too, albeit admittedly being a year older.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

But also has a bigger log jam in front of him IMO. Personally I can see logic for both but I own DeAngelo so an optimistic vote for him

But logjams can get cleared up pretty quickly, which is what I think will happen in ANA; also expansion is coming next year.

Not to mention Arizona has OEL and they signed Goligoski to huge money. That's also a logjam.

Goli is just a place warmer... Hardly a jar of jam, let alone log jam for DeAngelo. introducing the Josi to OEL's Weber

    (Also an optimistic owner)

I can't really see Goligoski becoming an overpaid Ekholm, to stick with the Nashville synonym. So I would say it's more likely DeAngelo is at best case, the Ryan Ellis of right now, and worst case the Stefan Elliott of right now.

True it can clear up quickly but - Vatanen, Fowler, Bieksa, Despres, Stomer, Manson, Holzer, Limdholm (?), Larsson, Theodore, Pettersson and Thompson is a pretty big one.. And not all have expiring contracts next year

Only Vatanen, Fowler, Lindholm and Theodore are really "in the way". But Anaheim could (and is likely) trade one of them for forward help and then there is expansion next year. Also, they could trade Montour. The way I see it, if a player is talented enough, he'll push his way to the lineup. I never let logjams cloud my perception of a player's value.

Montour may bull his way onto an NHL lineup before DeAngelo, but DeA still has the higher ceiling. Depends I guess whether you need production sooner or later.
