    Thanks for this.

Big fan of Casey Mittelstadt and really looking forward to seeing what he can do not so much this season but when he hits the U. of Minnesota next season.

Any truth to the rumors that the 2017 Draft Class could be one of the worst in a long time?

I like your analysis on Yamamoto. For some strange reason I think this kid could be a huge riser as the season progresses as his skill level is unreal.

I've heard people say and read in a few places(can't remember off the top of my head since I devour as much as I can from as many places as possible) that it is not a very deep draft and that at this juncture there surely are no generational type players and maybe none that would be considered franchise altering.

    1-Nolan Patrick
    2-Casey Middlestadt
    3-Timothy Liljegren
    4-Eeli Tolvanen
    5-Urho Vaakanainen
    6-Klim Kostin
    7-Kristian Vesalainen
    8-Elias Pettersson
    9-Nico Hischier
    10-Lias Andersson

Is one site's preseason top 10 for 2017 and granted the list will change and a couple names that should be there now aren't but the list doesn't give me goose bumps like the top 10's from previous seasons has.

In one of my dynasty leagues outise of my 1st rounder for next season which I may still move if a situation presents itself I've traded away pretty much all my picks for help and prospects now.

That being said of course because I've done that and said what I have the draft of 2017 will go down in the books as one of the best, lol.

One of the names not on the list who likely ends up going top 10 and maybe top 5 Kailer Yamamoto weighs less than a broomstick and barely stands taller than one so who knows.

Pretty interesting as always. What was really interesting is that scouts think Nolan Patrick would have gone anywhere from 5th to 10th if he was eligible in the 2016 draft (I think he missed it by just two days). So yeah, the 2016 draft was pretty good.

I think it's less that and more that the 2017 draft is going to be very weak. I have already traded away my 2017 1st round pick in my 30 team Dynasty league for a 2018 1st and another 2018 draft pick.

No, the 2016 and 2015 draft class were just amazing. Don't expect that to be the norm. 2017 looks to be an average year. We've just been spoiled with these two past draft classes.

This is interesting, true, but you also have to remember that he has another year to develop and climb that chart. 5th to 10th is decent, if it's a year early.

Not saying he'll climb that list all that much, but it's hard to compare a year apart.

Nolan Patrick is less than 3 months younger than Dubois (4 months younger than Puljujärvi and 5 months younger than Laine), so he shouldn't be all that much behind those guys. Both Dubois and Patrick have played 2 years in the CHL now, there isn't really any difference between their development time. Comparing Patrick to other 2017 draftees isn't really fair because he's turned 18 already; the others are almost a year behind him.
