Pavelec is what he is - one of the best 60 goalies (ok maybe 80) in the world right now as he is playing in the best league in the world but he consistently underwhelms - a poor man's Lehtonen when he was in Atlanta maybe?

Goalies are always scape goats and when you consider the start that had Helly had (everyone discounts his final stats and the fact he wore down) he is the bandwagon that everyone wants to hitch on...

I actually own Pavelec as a 4th goalie in a couple of leagues as right now he is still a starter on a decent team so there is value 0 good luck explaining that to anyone else though!
Experience is the teacher of all things.

I still think Hutchinson gets waived. There are going to be a lot of goalies placed on waivers before the start of the NHL season and Hutchinson is not likely the best one of those. Here's a partial list that I have put together of goalies who should be playing in the AHL this year but are not waiver exempt.

    Dustin Tokarski
    Justin Peters
    Jeremy Smith
    Jared Coreau
    Reto Berra
    Jack Campbell and Peter Budaj
    Alex Stalock
    Mike Condon
    Scott Wedgewood or Keith Kinkaid
    Magnus Hellberg
    JF Berube
    Aaron Dell and/or Troy Grosenick
    Richard Bachman
    Joe Cannata
    Michael Hutchinson

    ^Agree.
And, as Eskimo Brother mentions, having Hutch signed for 2-years gives them proper exposure regulations for expansion.

    2016-2017: Pav/Hutch... Helle if injury.
[Jets have Hutch for exposure to 2017 expansion, likely won't be selected. Pavelec UFA, won't be re-signed.]
    2017-2018: Helle/Hutch.
I think it is this simple.

I believe it's Pavelec and backup Hutch.
Hell boy will ride AHL until one of them get hurt. That's about it.
After next season and they lose one of Pavelec or backup Hutch. Then Hellboy will be up.
Close waiting game. If you have a spot to carry him free then go for it.
Jets look poised to be a solid future team.

The Jets are in no hurry for Hellebuyck and are fine with him continuing to develop his game while playing a ton in the AHL. There's nothing wrong with that. As fantasy owners, we all want the next great thing to come and help our fantasy roster, but the actual Winnipeg Jets are quite comfortable and confident in Pavelec.
Well said, abiet inconsistent at times.

Couple that with its a contract year for Pavs, unless injuries happen I expect Hellboy not to get much if anything.
