Makes no sense considering some of the unsigned players still out there, not to mention the bevy of dead players who would still be better than Torres.

A body that they don’t care about if he gets hurt or not, and can bring up the “non-rookie” total for preseason games, because don’t they need a certain amount of seasoned vets in their lineup by league rules?

Maybe Canes told Torres he’s not getting signed at all, and this is just for the preseason, and maybe they’re waiting for an actual shot?
I really don’t know why they would sign him. Maybe to pair with Bickell and just go out and having a bruising line? They really did have a softer team last yr and maybe thought this might help?
Bickell (somewhat) and Torres would definitely make teams keep their heads up.

Some players don't respect others at all and Torres is one of them - I don't know why the NHL keeps giving guys like this jobs.
So if Torres ends a superstar or two's season by December, is it worth it? A 4th line plug with a history of intent to injure takes out Nikita Kucherov (let's say) just before Xmas for the rest of the season, the incident gets replayed for a month straight and beyond on all the news channels, Torres gets suspended but will be back before Kucherov even starts his rehab.
Great, that's what NHL fans want to see.

I have history of the day after my leagues draft getting 2-3 players injured in pre-season.
But all funny rants aside, Torres is a joke. I really hope he does not see 1 NHL game all year.

Buncha young kids, lots of promise and no policeman on the team.
It's still a part of the game, and Torres brings a deterrent factor as much as anyone.
