Provorov
Werenski
Hanafin
Ghost
Long term ranking for multi cat league
Got my draft coming up soon and need to steady up my defense. I am looking at these 5 available guys as young options for long term impact.
I like Ghost first because of his showing last season - can he do it again?
I'm curious on Larsson as he was very steady on a poor offense Devils team - Can he add more offense and maintain his hits, blocks and +/- and PIMS?
(Also like Ghost and Larsson because they are both 23 y/o)
Provorov is supposed to be the next big thing - will he be more multi cat and still put up offense or will he always be 2nd fiddle to Ghost on PP?
Hanifin and Werenski have good potential and scouting reports but still very raw. -Should I consider taking now and leaving on bench for a few years to let mature?
Thoughts?

Ghost will get the most quality offensive ice next year. Larsson you can argue more, but won't come close to matching Ghosts' output (50ish)
Werenski has a job if he performs in camp with the BJ's
Provorov, likely too good to leave off Philly this year
They both look like offensive studs moving forward
Hanifin a stud dman, but not as much offensive upside.
Larsson, not sold being in Edm is going to add more than 5-7pts to his totals. Just not sold on him

Ghost, Provorov, Hanifin, Werenski, Larsson just as u listed em
Honestly they are all great options and I would stockpile as many as I could.
Provorov may have the slowest start, since I think he's the least guaranteed to have solid TOI numbers. Werenski next. So you may be able to get them cheaper in trades or in the draft.
Ghost is going to go soon in all drafts, and everyone knows that.
Larsson is tough to peg not having hit his full potential.
I would list them as Ghost, Hanifin, Provorov, Werenski, Larsson, for the order I would try to draft them in. That being said, down the line I think the order of most to least valuable will be Provorov, Ghost, Werenski, Hanifin, Larsson.

Agreed. Don't expect much more from Larsson in Edm than what he was in NJ. In fact, I'd temper expectations that he will be as effective in that train wreck of a defensive system considering the near perfect defensive system he came from.
Larsson will continue to be a a mid to low tier fantasy option IMO
I like Provorov, Werensky, Ghost
Hanifin
Larsson.

I'd definitely lead with Gostisbehere first, as he will be productive now, and is likely the most tradeable asset - someone may go nuts for him. Provorov is definitely a more multi-category type prospect, but I don't see him on PP1 for the Flyers in the near term, and I am not sure he starts in the NHL this year.
I agree you want a couple of them, but realistically, they are pretty close after Gostisbehere as far as where they are likely to get picked. Take him first, then grab one after the first one of the other four goes off the board.

Adam Larsson is gonna turn a lot of heads this year. There's a reason Dobber ranks him as the 30th must valuable D in the keeper format.
I'd bank on Ghost first, certainly in the short term, although I don't think he repeats last year - more like settling into a 43-point spot. With Provorov and other defenders coming up, the puck just gets spread around more. That said, I think Provorov will eventually be better, Werenski up there, but both will take a couple years to get there. Hanifin has the support and will grow more slowly and quietly, as Larsson has had the chance to do in NJ. Nobody even thought of him until the trade. I think he will turn some heads, but not like Ghost did last year. More a steady defender, but I just don't see him as a 40-point guy.

Dobber believes Larsson will get tons of minutes, including PP1 time (see the comments section on this article: http://www.dobberhockey.com/hockey-h...s-august-2016/), and I feel the same way. Larsson has a lot of untapped potential. Edmonton is going to utilize him differently than New Jersey did. I'm not saying he's instantly going to become a 50 point guy, but I do believe he'll substantially exceed what most people are expecting of him.
