Oh my... I think you just got fleeced regardless of when you are contending and even if hits are a category
i gotta believe that package was worth a better return

Initial deal: It should've been an easy decline - that's a bad deal. You are giving up a probable early first for Abdelkader & a 2nd. From other posts, I know your team is not good, and won't contend this year, and almost certainly not next.
Updated deal: That's actually worse, as you didn't get a pick back at all.
Don't deal your own future firsts away.

Why would you do that?
I don't really see much short-term value in those two, Abdelkader's hits total alone won't cut it.
You remind me of a manager in my league who always makes 4-for-4 sideways deals. You're too trigger-happy. Trading just for the sake of trading isn't the best strategy.
What a terrible deal. Yikes.
And your signature (with the total trade count) along with your thread from a few days ago makes me think that nothing we write here makes a bit of difference.
You need a gameplan for your team and should do NO deals that don't fit that gameplan.
I'd start with the rule that you will NOT trade away the best player in any deal -- and in this deal, the 1st rounder is the best player.

Dude..stop trading...period.
I don't see why you made this trade at all. At least if you Posta a question wait for the responses.

Rattie is on a 1-year show me deal. He's a numbers guy and should be a solid secondary, MAYBE 1st line guy on a team not called St. Louis. Not a good trade. Hayes will give you secondary scoring stats and some peripherals.
Alright that's it! Go to your room!
I hope you never quit this league as I'd feel sorry for someone having to take over from you!
