Who to keep?

I need to rid myself (for cap reasons) either:

Jason Spezza or
Mikko Koivu

I can simply drop one of them, but I'd like to get some value back. I don't have a problem with packaging them both in a trade.

1) Who would you drop if it came down to it
2) What value could I get for either one
2b) Who would you go after in return

1) Id keep Spezza who is in a good situation to get points.
2) Id guess a mid round draft pick at most.
3) Really depends on your teams needs and whether you can legit win this season

Agree it's Spezza I rather and has the better value but isn't the issue other teams having room for him? Those guys with cap space are probably re building so the appeal will be very little (in fact you may even need to sweeten the pot for them to even take them!) by all means try but I'm dubious to there being a fit

You will get a better return for Spezza, but there is not much to like out of Koivu this coming season. I would just take what I could get for him.

Update:

Ended up trading Koivu for Borowiecki, 2016 3rd rounder and a 2017 5th rounder.

Better than a kick in the pants I suppose.
