If you would have said this year, I would have taken the gamble on Zaitsev for the reasons Eskimo gave. However, in three years (and thereafter), I would probably want Matheson on my squad over Zaitsev.

While I agree that Matheson has Yandle and Ekblad impeeding his offense, Zaitsev will have Gardiner and Rielly impeeding his, not to mention the Leafs appear to be pretty high on Connor Carrick as well.
I think I'd want Matheson here.

Zaitsev should give more immediate production but I would want Matheson here if you don't need much this season. He has better long-term upside.

The next two years two four years they will both be around 110-125 points.

Haha good to know. I'm still on the over 28.5, but not by a huge amount. Maybe 32 for him or something.
Matheson I would peg around 26 this season with a bit of a bump each of the next few years.
