Dynasty Leage Goalie Help

Hello Good People.

Give me your best advice. I am in a 16 team keeper league. Goalies stats are weighed heavy. I have Holtby and Crawford. Great two keepers.

I need a third goalie. Choices are Ryan Miller age 36 or Eddie Lack age 28. In a dynasty league age matters. Where do you see the most production coming from this year? In future years?


Miller has Markstrom starting around half the starts. Lack is talented but Carolina doesnt seem committed to playing him a whole lot.

That's a terrible choice to have to make. Any chance you could grab someone else's backup, like Pickard or Johnson? I'd rather have either of them than miller or Lack. Reimer would be a much better option as well

I guess I should have added that we have a 15 player farm team system as well. Goalies are a premium. I dont have much in the way of farm team goalies as I sold them for the "lets win now" motto.

If they're your only options I'd go Lack. Ward might push him for starts, but realistically he should see 45+, whereas I see Miller getting fewer than 40. They're both on weak teams, and I don't expect either to win more than 20 games with some less than ideal GAA and SV% numbers. Lack had a few solid stretches last season though, and if he can string some starts together he might surprise me and post at least league average numbers. Carolina also has the better d core, so hopefully that'll help Lack's numbers.

Scraping the barrel but I go Lack... Miller will struggle to get another contract after this season IMO

Even this year I go Lack. Zero faith in Miller or Vancouver, and age will factor into trades and how strong your goaltending looks, so even just for that perception, the 28 year old Lack.

I'd go Lack, he's better than he was last hear. NO idea if that statement olds any value whatsoever though.

Both have limited fantasy value but I prefer Lack over Miller.

Your top two are real beauts so that'll keep you rolling. As far as the other two I agree with the Lack choice since he at least has the potential to be good while Miller only seems to have the upside of mediocrity in his future.

I would choose Miller if you need production just this year. While Markstrom will take over as #1 eventual, I don't see him stealing more then half the games from Miller this season.

Yes Lack is younger, but I don't see him as a starter in Carolina or anywhere else for that matter. You could easily pick up Lack next year.

Ward signed a new 3 year contract, I think he will get 50 starts this year and next. Not good for Lack, since his contract is up next year.

I see Miller getting at least 10+ more starts this season then Lack.

Still a terrible choice to make, lesser of two evils.
