I am curious where you "heard" this.

Unless it came from the head coach, it doesn't mean much as he's the one who determines who makes the team and until training camp cracks, we don't have a clue what borderline kids will or will not make it.

I am not saying he won't make it; I am more curious where you heard this rumor from.

He should be there I think. I like his chance better than Reway. The only thing..for Lehkonen it's NHL or SHL. No AHL for him this year.

I suppose a good exercise would be for anybody to list their MON 14F... and show who they are putting where.
Generalfanager has 14F listed for MON on one-way contracts. The extras probably being 13F: Flynn and 14F: Matteau.
Then you've got Lehkonen, De La Rose, McCarron.
Isn't McCarron one of the stronger contenders to get ice time?

McCarron will either be on the team all year or he'll get a ton of call-ups.

Matteau/Flynn could easily be demoted if Lehkonen, Reway or Hudon force their way onto the team. Neither one is a sure thing though as there's more contenders than roster spots.

The Habs have a lot of depth for the 3rd and 4th line. But they need a 2nd line W. Lehkonen is a W but De La Rose and McCarron are C.

I don't think he is 100% NHL ready, but I would not be surprise to see him on the top 2 line at the camp.

Looks like that Swedish coach knew what he was talking about.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

Yes, things are much more clear now. He's looking fantastic. I remember having him overrated on my list a couple of years ago. Now I went and kept him too low for too long, but he really blossomed late in the SHL season/playoffs

This thread was created 2 months ago. Very few people were talking about him at the time.

@ OP, I drafted Lehkonen in a few of my deep leagues. As a Habs fan I've had a close eye on him for a while now. I hope it sticks on the 2nd line.
