They have Subban getting 75 pts, Josi getting 62 pts and Ellis getting 48 pts. Subban will be great but not that great. According to TSF Nashville forwards are the Dmen.

I haven't seen - let alone bought - TSF, but I did pick up THN's pool guide this weekend. Make no mistake - it pales in comparison to Dobber's Guide and is nothing close to what it was a decade ago, but I think it's a least a bit of a step up from what they'd been putting out the last couple of years.

I just picked it up this morning and leafed through it on the back deck. Also have Dob's and THN guide too. TSF is quite lofty in many of its predictions and many of its sleepers are either 3rd or 4th line guys or back up goalies. Whoopee. The top 6 in scoring seem very inflated and some of the top 30 guys are expected to hit 20+ more points than last season - just because I guess. THN has predictions that are more in line with this site and its offering. Will leaf through more of TSF when I get a chance.

    Dobber > THN > TSF
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.

This magazine is so bizarre. When you read the player bios it seems to make so much sense, but you look at the projections and you start to wonder who was in charge. They have this concept that there are still tons of players who can top 70 points (33!), and then they have the most random projections on some players. They have Brassard hitting 72, Subban hitting 75, yet guys like Giroux only get 71? They think Jagr gets 68 and Hertl gets 66, but Nash gets 47?

I agree. Went through it briefly today and the numbers seem a little too wacky.

I'll be surprised if Jagr plays 68 games! Let alone getting 68 points...

It's always been a bit too positive. They had Zibanejad at 72 last year, and Max Domi in teh 70s too. Kinda crazy.

That said, I like the forecaster a fair bit. Just take the projections with a grain of salt

Finally picked up my copy of the Forecaster today(forgot the last couple times we were in the big city, and in town basically you get the newspapers, the farmer's almanac and something that tells you how many cowpies were found in the road in any given month.)

Anyways noticed some of the changes like listing the top 25 prospects for each organization which is fine but most teams if not all were kind of out there in terms of rankings at least IMO and I actually preferred fewer but with little blurbs like in the past.

I agree that some projections are out there and that a team like the Jets if you count the projections listed and then the 2 or in the player write ups not included in that table will score 266+ goals. Hope so but don't see it.

Even somebody like a Tyler Graovac who I do think is a sleeper and I check because he's one of the players I own at 13-13-26 is probably too high though I'll take it and be happy if he gets it.

And the standings predictions were a little odd: Ottawa, Winnipeg, Carolina, Arizona as the 3rd place teams. Hope they are wrong with Ottawa because I can't stand them and right about Winnipeg but i think they've got their sights set too high for some teams and too low for others. Really don't think the Rangers will be the last place team in their division but it wouldn't surprise me too much if the Islanders were there. Also don't think Minnesota will be bad enough to finish at the bottom either.

    Still like the Forecaster though.

The 2017 issue became available for purchase yesterday so I had my wife pick me up a copy while she was out. I haven't had a chance to look through it but after a super quick skim, I noticed three predictions that make me question the rest of the magazines content.

    President's Trophy: New York Rangers
Stanley Cup Finalist: Toronto Maple Leafs
    Ryan Strome: 70+ points

Anyone else getting themselves a copy?

edit: Something I forgot to mention was the beautiful full back cover advertisement for Dobber Hockey!

Ha! I just read most of this thread thinking it was about the new issue.

I tried to order online. Seems they don't ship to the States. Ah well.
Any other good digital guides out there?
