McDavid at #4 already wow.
While it may not be Dobber's list, I always appreciate a different point of view. Thanks, Tomastop for adding the link.

Always fun to read lists in the summer.
I keep seeing Kane at the top of every list, either 1 or 2, but I have a feeling he won't be a top 5 performer this season. Why? Look at his history. He's only broken 80 points once before in his career. Last year he also had the extra motivation - the summer fiasco with the rape allegations - which he won't have this year. Panarin will be in his second year and often rookies regress then and their chemistry was a big part of what Kane did.
Many are putting much too high an emphasis on last year's stats for their current ranking without a broader perspective.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
Don't forget he was the leading point getter the previous season before breaking his collarbone. He's also been a point-per-game player in each of the last four years. Crosby, Kane and Malkin are the only NHL players to do that.
If Kane stays healthy, there' no reason why he couldn't be a top five performer. His only issue is his health.

12-team Keeper pool, straight points for forwards & dmen. Goalies get: 2 points per win, 3 per shutout, 1 point per assist & 1 point per shootout loss.
League champ in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.
Top 8 forwards, 5 dmen and 2 goalies count.
We keep 15 players (any position) plus two rookies.
Forwards: Panarin, Ovechkin, Kopitar, Stamkos, Tuch, Rust, Marchessault, Pavelski, Miller, Bertuzzi, Stone, Kakko, Brown, Stankoven, Kovalenko
Defence: Hedman, Fox, Matheson, Thrun, Jiricek
Goalies: Kochetkov, Talbot, Vasilevskiy, Campbell, Schmid
If Kane stays healthy, there's no reason to believe why he can't be top 1-3 in the league in scoring!! But we can't sell Crosby, Benn, McDavid, and Seguin short.. All these guys have the skills to be in the top 3 aswell..

Thanks for the link!
Also, I'm just happy I have both Crosby and Kane.
I actually don't think Kane will be top 5 in scoring even if he stays healthy.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if Kane falls back to the 65-70 point range. I know that is a huge regression but until last year that is what he has historically scored. In addition, he also missed 5-10 games per year due to injury in previous seasons.

Some Kane haters on these boards and I don't mean Evander. Those who think he'll regress to below 75 point levels need to watch him play more often. A threat every time on the ice. Silly talk. 1.01 ppg over his NHL career. IF he stays healthy, he's good for 80+ points. Nice link and thanks!
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.
I think the 5-10 games missed is a pretty big deal though. Yes he might have really only scored over 90 points this past season, but in the three seasons prior to that his lowest PPG pace was 1. He played at a 96 point pace in the lockout shortened season. In fact he's scored more at a PPG pace than he has at less than that. You have to go back 5 seasons before he put up less than a PPG pace, and that was his 5th season in the league. And that season happens to coincide with his worst shooting percentage. In fact his lowest shooting percentage of the past four seasons was 12.5 percent. He's basically averaged around 15 percent shooting the last four season.
I think it's fairly likely Kane will be a PPG player or better, meaning he'll get 80 plus points as long as he's healthy (he's really only missed signficany games in three seasons, two of which come within the last three seasons. I wouldn't be too worried yet).
