    Default .5 PPR Decision

I have the option to choose either 7th or 9th pick overall in my 1 player keeper, 10 team .5 ppr league. I am keeping AROB and lose my 11th rd pick. Whichever pick I do not choose will go to the person keeping AB meaning they lose their 1st round pick. Other notable players being kept are Julio, Hopkins, and Gurley. Which is the better pick for me to have?

Players I expect available at each pick:
7th overall - Elliott, Green, Gronk
9th pick (8th overall) - Elliott, Gronk, Miller
12th pick (11th overall) - Jeffery, Charles, Allen
14th pick (13th overall) - Freeman, Evans, Allen
    10 team keep 15 players league, 25 player roster, with H2H categories (G, A, +/-, PPP, SOG, HITS, W, SV%, SO, GAA)
C: McDavid, Eichel, Monahan, O' Reilly
    LW: Forsberg, Huberdeau, JVR, Guentzel
    RW: Palmieri, Mark Stone
D: Hedman, Ristolainen, S. Jones, OEL
    G: Lundqvist or Mike Smith

    Farm Team: Demko, Kaprizov, Samsonov

So what you are asking is it better to have 7th overall pick and 13th overall in comparison to 9th overall and 12th.

If this is the question, I always like to pick later in the first round... cause there is always some elite talent to make it to the end of the first round.. Then you get the better pick of the remaining stars earlier in round 2.

Yes that is what I am asking, but like I said, players like AB, Julio, Hopkins and Gurley are already unavailable so guys I could get aorund 7 would be Zeke, Green, Gronk. Also it would be 8th overall pick since the guy who has AB loses his pick

So if there is one of those three (Elliot, Green, or Gronkowski) that you HAVE to have, then you take 7th overall. If you prefer to take whichever one is left for you and get your choice in second round.

Option 1) You get your choice of those three with 7th overall and take the leftover in 2nd round.

Option 2) You take the leftover of those three big name guys in round 1 and you get to choose between the available players in round 2.

    I am a fan of option 2.

The problem is those three may not be there at pick 9 (8th overall) and the best player may be Miller

Then if you are concerned about that... you take the 7th overall pick.

If it we me... I would take option 2 and be happy with Miller at my pick and then be even happier that I get to pick between the available players in round 2.

    I'd take the 7th and 13th.
    At 7 I rank them:
    Gronk
    Green
    Elliott

    At 13 I rank them:
    Freeman
    Allen
    Evans

If you could get out of there with Robinson, Gronk, and Freeman I would consider that a great start to your draft.

Even though I could only drop down one spot in the first round but jump up 2 picks in the second if I were to pick 9th?

Take pick 7 and then pick BPA....As Peng said, if your concerned about your top 3 not being there, go with the higher pick. In a keep-1 you want the quality over the quantity (quantity here being the quicker turnaround on picks).

But is a guy at pick 7 (Green, Elliott, Gronk) really that much better than one pick lower?

I'd rather control what player I got than rely on another GM to pick a player and have me settle for the other.
