Hm, I wish this was a Master System/Genesis combo, because much of my affinity for Sega (I'm a huge Sega fan) was from the Master System. The Alex Kidd games, the Wonder Boys (probably my favourite), Rastan, R-Type, Shinobi, Kung Fu Kid, etc. That said, there's still some great stuff here. I'll probably get this one, as well, but I probably prefer the NES system over this one, because of the SMS omission.

I wonder if there are any hidden gems on the arcade/puzzle games list. I haven't heard of most of those.

Agreed. I played the hell out of Wonder Boy in Monster Land when I was younger.

I'm not sure why anyone would buy these since they can get any or all of the games using an emulator and a cheap raspberry pi, unless of course they just can't be bothered with the setup, which is fair.

That's where I'm at with these consoles. Having a simple all-in-one HDMI device, with new-but-retro classic controllers is worth it for me.

Also, yes all day to Wonder Boy in Monster World. Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap was also incredible. Pretty sure I could still play that and have a blast. I believe the Wonder Boy games are being remade and released this year sometime.

Hmmm, 4 of the best games (and series) on the Genesis have been left out:

- Castlevania Bloodlines
- X-Men 2
- Streets of Rage 2
- Earthworm Jim

Also, an honorable mention goes out to Ecco the Dolphin and Jurrasic Park

I think I will get the new NES but I'm not so sure that there's enough of games on this thing that bring back my childhood years with this console... Then again, Vectorman, ComixZone, the Sonic the Hedgehog series, Mortal Kombat with blood, Altered Beast, Shinobi III and Alex Kidd are all very solid titles so maybe I'll end up getting it

Well to be fair, more than half of them are arcade games (41 in all) and then out of 39 Genesis games, a third of them (13 to be precise) are linked to the Sonic, Golden Axe and Mortal Kombat series... Not enough variety IMO

Yeah, I completely agree. There are piles of great games that could be on this. So many of these are just games that we've seen in other collections. On top of the classics that you mentioned, I'd love to see others like Beyond Oasis, Strider, Castle of Illusion, Gunstar Heroes, Monster World IV and at least one Shining Force game.
