Get that man out of the AL East. I almost fear Miller more than Chapman tho. Betances I’ve never had an issue with the Jays playing against him, they beat him up.

Seems like a deal that benefits both the Cubs(now) and the Yankees (long-term), the prospects the Cubs gave up for a potential rental are steep, they just filled their lone weakness with an incredible strength. It will be interesting to see how the Cubs Cubs' themselves out of the World Series this year.......

Hopefully you were not relying on Hector for your fantasy baseball team.

See don't most leagues employ Holds as a category as well??? Or just every league I've ever been in? I was listening to a CBS podcast today where it was saying Miller and Betances are must adds and I'm thinking.....they were on my must draft list at the beginning of the year!!

Not head to head points leagues where saves are the same amount of points as a win. Or at least not the leagues i am in.

Chapman said "God Willing" he'd return to the Yankees in the Off-Season. Could turn out to be a terrible trade if the Cubs dont win and he signs with the Yankees.

This is the kind of trade a team makes when they are in a prime position to win a championship AND have a lot of prospects. Torres is the real get for the Yankees. He has a high ceiling and could be a future perennial all-star. He did start off the season very cold but I heard he has started to turn things around. But the reality is that the Cubs have no spot for him. Russell will be the starting shortstop for the next dozen years and Baez is an outstanding defensive shortstop who has excelled at both 2nd and 3rd. Plus, you have Zobrist for 3 more years. So they already have a glut of fantastic infielders. So this is a textbook trade of a team dealing from a strength to improve their weakness. Plus, the Cubs just made their bullpen from being a question mark to a strength and at the same time preventing their main opponents from acquiring Chapman. They'll have a bullpen that rivals what KC has been able to do the last couple years.

McKinney is a guy. His ceiling is a #4 outfielder or low quality starter. The perfect player you put in a trade. You trade him and don't look back.

Oh I know the Cubs dealt from a position of depth. But if they lose the WSC and the Yankees resign Chapman, that doesn’t look good. But good on the Yankees.

But you know Chapman is just saying that. Who knows what happens, and we hear it every time a big name player leaves a team before FA. “Oh I’d love to sign back with them”

Odds are the Cubs won't win the WS and Chapman probably will sign somewhere else. The optics might look worse but it doesn't really matter if he signs with Boston, San Francisco, Washington or New York. He's a pure rental.

Finally just seeing this now, and that is a scary Cubs team, though they have been close to .500 their last 70 games...

No, I wouldn't say holds are all that common, so yeah, Rondon is probably borderline droppable now.
