    Default How's my draft ranking?

I was awarded the 1st overall pick for our entry draft and just traded (a boatload) for the 2nd overall pick. I also have picks 15 and 29 this year. It's a 3 round draft for the league in the signature. Curious if my defence rankings are reasonable and if there's anyone I'm missing that I should absolutely consider. Rookies are kept at 0.5M for 5 years with an option to match any auction bids after year 5. This means there's a little more urgency to pick guys who will play soon. Thanks!

    3 Lindell

    Juolevi (on account of opportunity)
    Sergachev
    McAvoy
    Bean

    Chychrun

depends who you can choose from? are the likes of Theodore, DeAngelo, Parayoko, Honka, Matheson? with the likes of Lindell on your list I am guessing it is just not this year's picks?

Truly is next to impossible to answer this without knowing who is available for the draft, beyond the 2016 picks. And I agree with FHG rankings, I'd move the two more established guys to the top of your list.

Thanks and sorry for the vague question. Honka, Theodore, Matheson etc are all gone. That's the majority of who is available that I can see but I was curious if anyone had any sleepers of the same ilk as Montour. Not sure if Montour or Lindell will fall to me at 15.

There are also guys like Cochran, Walman, J Schmaltz and Skjei available but I don't have a tonne of interest there.

Take a look at Dobber's list of prospect D, and compare that to who is available in your pool:

Thanks, I did that before but there were a few I missed... Zaitsev, Zboril, Koekkoek, Graves, Juulsen, Pokka, Subban, J Larsson, McAvoy, Cholowski, Bear, Hansen. More research to be done. I still like my list with the tweaks from you folks. Thanks!

I would have Sergachev first, Lindell 2nd, then maybe Juolevi and Montour after that.

Based on your "urgency to play soon" Lindell would be my #1 choice. Followed by Sergachev. Juolevi doesn't have much competition in Vancouver but he not really anything special offensively and very passive defensively with little physical edge. Montour is a great PP QB but has a long road ahead of him and really needs a change of scenery or a D in ANA to be shipped out. I love Fabbro, but he's going to be a 3 year wait minimum and given your league, will probably be less valuable than someone who can play this year or next.

Agree with this. Sergachev is the wild card. I heard he was what made the Subban trade come to pass. People in Montreal believe he will become Weber's long term partner. And apparently he's going to play in Montreal this year.

Saying that, Lindell is the safe bet.
