Offer for Benn

we're in the middle of our summer non-keeper player draft (league in sig). I would say i have a sure-thing playoff roster, but i would need some breaks to be a real contender. Got an offer for Benn that i think is a little light that i wanted to run by the crowd.

I wouldnt have to drop players now, i would have some time to trade them till the roster cut off in october. Still seems like a lot of prospects for a top 5 skater. He has a good lineup but is mainly trying to get offload prospects before the cutoff

It has to come down to do you like Benn more, or the combo of Turris+Voracek, as none of those prospects are going to sway me one way or another.

Benn is a top 3 forward in any format. Voracek as a piece.. yeah okay, maybe. Turris as the other main piece is a joke. Give me a legit top 10 forward in return and start adding. Tank & Voracek.. now we're getting into a conversation.

The three prospects are B level. Give me something high end - Theodore, Dubois, Connor.

I can see why that offer could be considered but it is right not to accept it... personally if I am moving Benn then everyone gets to hear about it! supply and demand and drive that price up - others will beat that offer I am sure

In your format you could argue that Benn is the top player in the league, or very close to it. Unless an elite player is coming back, and I mean ELITE, then I wouldn't even consider it. No counter, nothing. I see you weren't swayed and that's good, but just to emphasize how good Benn is in your league.

I wouldn't trade Benn in your hopes to become a contender. He's a core player you build your team around.

Oh and just a small suggestion - can you add the type of league (h2h, roto etc.) and number of starters per position to your signature? They could be relevant in future posts.

On one side, you have a proven elite player, possibly the top guy in your format. On the other side, a bunch of cheap, largely unproven talent, or at least consistency that has not been established. Roster spots also have value. The key to winning is to pack as much talent into limited roster spots as you can. If you acquire 5-for-1, then you'd be going out to look for a deal where you could trade some off for an elite player. Why do that? You already have it.
