I guess it depends on what you trade for him but I prefer Brodie. Anaheim seems like a bit of a D factory in terms of what is already there and what is coming up in the system I see more potential roadblocks/competition for Vatanen in terms of offensive production from a D man with Anaheim than for brodie with calgary.

I would have just offered Vatanen to start.. the two are close. Fabbro tilts it to the other owner now.

Yeah if you're offering that I would probably take it as the Brodie owner. To me that's like a 'final" best offer. You have to start small like Vatanen for Brodie or Vatenen and a Slim Jim for Brodie.

Vatanen is the better option

Brodie doesn't hit much nor get many penalties, and with Hamilton's emergence towards the end of last season, I think Brodie's point totals and power play time will diminish.

They aren't far off, and I think Vatanen will out-perform Brodie this season.

I think Vatanen has anther gear and as others have said don't think this deal needed anything adding other than a late pick

I actually like Vatanen over Brodie here.. Anaheim signing Sammy Vats to a 4 year, $19.5 deal tells me alot about what they think of him aswell!!
