Tampa has their goalie for the future locked up for a few years, they committed to Vaslilevski and wouldn't resign Bishop anyway, they simply can't afford him. But if you want to split hairs, the could lose him in the expansion draft, but they will let him walk anyway, that's why i wrote that it doesn't matter.

I agree with you he won't be there past this season unless some really major trades go down but don't forget that Tampa have to leave a goalie unprotected also that's all. As I have said in a few threads I think they keep him up to the trade deadline and possibly past it and that Vas doesn't get the net this year just a larger volume of games

And what exactly is it that tells you Bishop is worse than Vas?
I'm going to ignore the fact you called one of the top goalie prospects in hockey a nobody.

He was a nobody for last year. Obviously he was a great prospect. But he made no impact positive or negative on the games.

I guess you didn't answer the Bishop question?

Paraphrasing that to Murray was a nobody the year before because he wasn't in the NHL, is a pretty flawed argument. By that same standard, so were Panarin or McDavid.

Don't forget who you are talking to here. Ask him what his opinion of Robin lehner or Jacob Silfverberg or any other ex-Sen is. Of course he isn't high on Bishop, especially given what they got for him

My take on Bishop is he is a good starter. He;'s not more than that I would say. Makes all the sense to give Vas the reigns.

Bishop has shown he gives TB a great chance to win. Vas is good, we agree on that, but transitioning him into the starters role would be ideal for everyone.

It makes sense that they'll ease Vasy into a starter's role or give him an extra year of development. He's still a very young goaltender by NHL standards and different players develop at different rates. I like Vasilevskiy, but he was played against soft competition last year and he still didn't put up great numbers. I don't think Tampa would have made the playoffs with Vasy as the starter last season. Bishop is definitely a stud goalie any way you look at it. Top 5 goalie in the league.

Why wouldn't Buffalo make a move for him. Seems to be a good fit IMO. Unless they think Lehner can stay upright for a season.
