Letang?

Been offered letang, koivu and Mason for Morgan Reilly, scheifele and mason. I don't like the idea of testing Reilly and scheifele. Basically a points league. I came in second last year so really happy with my team as it stands. Is letang worth it? I have burns, faulk and shattenkirk as my top dmen already.

I'd keep what you have. Letang is great, but also major BAB and I think you'll lose more by switching Scheifele with Koivu, than you gain by upgrading Reilly with Letang.

Also, Mason for Mason?

Not sure of the Mason for Mason either - you'll need to clarify..

The other two pieces, you've got two really good young up and coming players in Sheif & Rielly - I own Letang and just can't see him being able to replicate that season or his health. My fingers crossed he does! But with his history, that will be hard. I would definitely rather keep what you have over obtaining Koivu.

But for full evaluation, who's the ? goalie.

I'm with the consencus here. The drop from Scheifele to Koivu isn't worth the bump in Rielly to Letang. As a Letang owner the issue is never production its simply health. And with Matthews in TO, Rielly's numbers could take a big jump. Remember that his 30 or so pts this year was also with JVR hurt all year.

Gotta think Scheifele is 20+ on Koivu but Reilly may be 20- from Letang. Difference is Letang could just as easily get injured and Koivu will have no re sale value - stand pat

Well that and Babs was really controlling his minutes, putting him in the toughest matchups possible all season. No to minimal PP1 time until the Phaneuf trade. Last season for him was all about creating as strong a 2-way game as possible.

His pre-season meeting with Babcock, he expressed a desire to be a top end #1 Dman in the NHL and Babs said he can help, but 'there will be pain' - part of that pain was sacrificing offense for overall development - hence: 30pts and not 45.

Agree with the above. Yes Letang is the best player, but also the riskiest. There's a smaller chance that the Letang side wins, than there is a chance of it completely blowing up.

While Bobrovsky wasn't technically traded for Mason, they did swap jobs, with the Flyers losing that exchange horribly.
