WHL 2016 Prospect Draft Selection Thread

Figured we needed a place to make our selections and to discuss.

id like to take this time to welcome our new GMs to the WHL. I'd also like to thank Peng and all Co-Commish for handling a productive off season in terms of rule discussion and implementation.

Congratulations to Brakli for winning our inaugural season and good luck defending the Cup this year.

At 9AM EST, I will kick things off in this thread..

I echo GinFizz's sentiments! Congrats to Brakl and welcome to all the newbies. Good luck to all (but more so me)

Funny how the first two people in this thread finished 24th and 23rd respectively! See who's extra eager!

Oh yeah... And a FINGER HELD HIGH TO THE SKY to the Oilers, for causing me to drop from 2nd overall (Laine/Matthews) to 4th (Tkachuk/Dubois/Keller). Real feel good moment for me!

With the 3rd overall pick, Tampere Polar Bears are proud to select right wing Jesse Puljujärvi.

Prior to Tkachuk going 4th overall, the pick was traded for the 7th overall pick and Jimmy Vesey.

After trading away the 4th overall pick to land Jimmy Vesey and the 7th overall pick, The Storm are VERY proud to select "Offensively Gifted Center", Clayton Keller filling a glaring need at the Center position and thereby completing the trade.
