Wedgewood vs Gillies
Just bored on this slow off season day but just wanted to compare my 2 goalie prospect. Who is the better prospect to own? For me owning Schnieder having wedgewood is nice for the handcuff if Schneider ever went down due to injury. But I think Gillies will be the better goalie but is 2+ years away

As it stands right now, the handcuff in New Jersey is Schneider and Kinkaid. People are selling Kinkaid short but he played pretty well for the US in the World's recently.
Like most goalie prospects, we can only assume, but if I had to assume what one will be better, I'd probably want Gillies over Wedgewood as well.

but KK's qork in the NHL is meh so an extended injury to Schneider probably opens the door for Wedgewood more than Keith

Wedgewood is closer to the NHL, but I like Gillies better down the road.

Imo this is a no-brainer in favor of Gillies.
You're not wasting a roster spot, so you can wait for 2+ years. And Schneider is (usually) very durable anyway.

I'm a Gillies owner so I may be biass by saying gillies but i'd also pick him because wedgewood has mackenzie blackwood to contend with while gillies is next in line for calgary

I wouldn't forget Mason McDonald in Calgary. He's probably a year behind Gillies but could just as well end up being the starter in Calgary long-term.
I think Blackwood is much more likely to become a starter than Wedgewood.
