Anyone else think he has out-waited the $$ contracts. Coming from Cgy he was a highly rated defensive Dman UFA... his time in Dallas seems to have diminished his value quite a bit.

reminds me of franson a while back. wanted an insane longterm contract, had to settle for a short term 2 year low aav and got screwed.

i just hope he signs soon with a non-leaf team.

If he comes at the right price we'll let him anchor the third pair in Nashville. But I agree, Toronto doesn't need him. Come to think of it, there aren't too many great fits for him.
They may not need another non-offensive guy, but after trading Larsson, maybe NJ needs a minute munching Dman.

Detroit in my mind doesn't need another second pairing Dman, they have 7 already. Boston as well already has too many overpaid D.

I also believe Boston won't be signing Russell to a big contract as they are only $6 million under the cap right now and Marchand is a UFA next season!!

Spooner & Pasta are both RFA's, so I can see the crunch coming there. These are the other teams I've seen him linked too, as well as Florida, but I don't see them putting in $3m for him.

Russell: As would I, my point was though that the signing of Polak eliminated them from a Russell landing spot - likely due to his rejection of their offer & Polak was the back up option for 17/18

i'd easily take polak on a cheap 1 year contract that allows you to flip him at the deadline for more picks.
