I dont know how true these Russell reports are. Im hearing alot of bogus stuff out there.
Maybe a desperate agent trying to manipulate things to get his player signed for a decent rate. Especially now that the major players are gone.

Oh man... last thing we need is to sign another stay at home, low offence dman at over 4 mil. Seidenberg JUST got bought out, and honestly I would rather have kept him than sign Russell.

Leafs apparently offered 4 years 17m+ on Friday. Turned down. Even that's ridiculous. Glad they went for Polak instead.

Florida said to be checking in on Russell. I dont believe he signs there but weird shit happens all the time in this league. Would be a head-scratcher though as Florida seems to have done a nice job revamping their blue line and have 7 D already under contract. I guess they are a little light on lefty shooters, perhaps that is the thought.

Not an entirely unwise idea - you can never have too many D. And if you do, then you can rest assured it'll be a seller's market come deadline day.

Anyone else think he has out-waited the $$ contracts. Coming from Cgy he was a highly rated defensive Dman UFA... his time in Dallas seems to have diminished his value quite a bit.
