Extra 4 million to keep the band together up front. The writing was kind of on the wall here after this season. TOI and usage really went down, just wasn't a big enough piece to justify that cap hit.

carle being bought out and Deangelo getting traded makes me think that hedman is gonna get to that next gear that we're not sure he has. but all the offensive dmen are being shipped out, so the offense will fall on hedman's shoulders. the only thing holding him back has been lack of opportunity (doesn't get as much PP time as other star dmen) but now he'll get it.
