These guys are pros so I would think not. In any event, it sounds like he knows Weber.

I have no idea how to take this metaphor. They traded a fox and got back a horse? I'm so confused.

As far as impacting Price, I think the only thing that's going to impact him is his health. If he goes back to having a healthy season, he'll be one of the top goaltenders in both real life and fantasy. His fantasy value just hinges on whether the Habs can score enough goals to win the games he keeps close.

So, still not actual reason for this trade? Maybe it IS a hockey trade?

Maybe. Lots of factors. Tony Marinaro reports there was a lockerroom rift. You can skip to 4 mins in http://www.tsn.ca/radio/montreal-690...raded-1.518373

Interesting point here and I haven't seen it been mentioned yet. But with the trade Subban loses his no movement clause.

Per the 2013 CBA, though, deals that are traded before a player’s no-trade or no-movement clause kicks in don’t necessarily bring those restrictions with them. It is up to the discretion of the teams bringing the player on board to determine whether they will honor the restrictions or not – and in this case, the Predators have chosen no to honor the NMC in Subban’s deal.
Could also explain why teams were hard after Subban, knowing that you have the option to open him up to trades if acquiring him prior to the clause kicking in.

That is interesting. I still see them keeping him, but it does offer some flexibility in years down the road.

Yes I agree. You don't trade your captain and franchise defenceman for him and then turn around and sell him off. My point was beyond 3-4 years where if they see his value declining, he could be moved without having him waive conditions.

I could see that as well. Even as soon as when Fabbro is ready to take over in the top 4. Maybe Edmonton will still be looking for a defenceman and we can get McDavid for him

It's stuff like this that makes me wish I had time to study contract law. Just hard to justify quite THAT much effort to make me better at my hobby.

I bet they contend for the Stanley Cup Fun thread to go back on and read. Was an exciting afternoon around here for sure. Only read the first 30 posts to see what all said. Happy for PK and when he wins the cup I hope he brings it back to the sick kids at Sick Kids Montreal.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.

I have been saying this since the Habs were eliminated.. And I plan on attending the PK wing of the hospital that day. I hope Bergevin comes too. If I was PK, I would invite him.

If you're drunk enough and close your eyes, either will get the job done.

Kinda sounds like Bergevin's trading MO, doesn't it?
