Default Where does Reimer look to land now?

With the Canes signing (cough barf) Ward
With the Flames sniffing around MAF
    With the vacancy in Anaheim

Anyone have any insider knowledge or want to hazard a guess as to where Reimer lands? I hope he's seen as a 1B with upside. Any chance we see him move down the coast to Anaheim t back up the fragile Gibson? (Wishing, but no basis).

    Thoughts? Guesses?

    Here's my thought:

    1- Calgary
    2- NY Islanders
    3- Vancouver
    12 teams dynasty, Points only ( G and A = 1pt)

    F: McDavid (12.5M), Kucherov (9.5M), Boldy (7M), Kyrou (8.13M), J. Norris (7.95M), Zegras (5.95M), Kuzmenko (5.5M), Reichel (0.925M), P. Kane (2.75M), Lundell (0.925M), Rasmussen (1.46M), Rossi (0.86M).

    D: Korchinski (0.925M), Byram (3.85M), Burns (5.28M).

    G: Kochetkov (2M), Shesterkin (5,670M).

    Bench: E. Karlsson (10M), Lucius (0.925M), Edvinsson (0.89M), Askarov (0.925M), Quinn (0.86M), Berggren (0.925M), Stankoven (0.81M), Knight (4.5M), Mitchkov (TBD), Athanasiou (4.25M), Samsonov (3.55M), Klingberg (4.15M).

Calgary seems to be the biggest favourite.

Curve ball... Calgary lands MAF. Now what?

Honestly if pens deal MAF to Calgary I really like Reimer in Pitt.....

But I'm in the 90+% sure camp that Reimer goes to Calgary

Why pay conceivably more than what Fred Anderson cost to Pitt (and honestly I don't think Pitt even wants to sell him)

Just sign Reimer to a Martin jones contract and sit back and enjoy the reasonable, boring and SMART move u made

The Andersen deal is just the beginning of what will be a fair amount of goalie moves due to the expansion. I think a deal for MAF is going down soon.

If Calgary doesnt go for MAF, one obviously has to think they are in on Reimer. Calgary has no goalies outside their minor league system signed as of now. They are going to need to do something big. I wonder if they have called Toronto about Bernier yet.

A lot of teams could use an upgrade to their back up spot. Reimer just might not find an obvious path to a starting job if he isnt signed by the Flames. Buffalo could be an interesting landing spot.

What about a contract to back up Luongo in Florida? Just wanted to put another possibility out there, although I think the Islanders, Flames and Sharks (as long as the deal isn't too rich) are the best bets.

The Florida thought is interesting. Reimer could do well there, but between a controversy with Luongo, fitting him under the internal cap, and him being so far away from Winnipeg, I'm not sure it works out.

    1. CGY, just makes the most sense
    2. FLA, good back up behind Lou who can play 35 games to give Lou a break as he gets older (can sign a 3 year deal)
    3. BUF, Lehner gets hurt 80% of the time, would make a great safety net especially if they want to start competing
    4. PIT if MAF is moved
    5. CBJ, see BUF reasoning (if they want to keep Korpi and Forsberg in the AHL

Ones that make no sense (IMO) mentioned:
    - NYI, Halak and Griess are there. Sure they could move Halak but why? it is a good pairing for next year deal with it when Griess' contract is up (if he plays well next year and they extend him then move Halak or leave him open to get taken in the expansion draft)
    - Ana, makes sense because Gibson gets hurt a lot, but a healthy season from Gibson really limits Riemers playing time, plus Carlyle is there

Calgary makes the most sense, which is why he probably won't land there. Seems too clean.

I see him taking on a 1A/1B role for a club with either an aging veteran or young unproven goalie, which includes Pit, Florida and Buffalo. Another team I think could make a play for him is Dallas if they are able to move either Lehtonen or Niemi (or buy them out).
