Thanks guys. Ended up trading Luongo, Ben Hutton, and a couple prospects for Markstrom and Zibanejad. Being we only start 1 goalie per week, having Andersen and Markstrom saves me a lot of money. And hopefully Markstrom can turn into something.

When you said "Looking to pick him up as a cheap #2 for my team next season." I read that as him being available to be "picked up" off waivers. No way would I have traded Luongo for him... Lou should be able to put together another 2, maybe 3 good years. Your team looks pretty damn solid (ridiculous actually) for a 20 team league and Lou/Anderson was a decent goalie situation. Trading Lou for Markstrom seems silly to me in this situation. Wonder if I am alone in thinking this...

In a vacuum, you're totally right. But I won my league last year by a large enough margin, I could have just gone without a goalie all year and still dominated. So having a 6.7 million Luongo and a 5 million? Andersen would be a horrible use of cap space. Cutting salary was the main goal for the deal.... Chances are good I won't even use Matkstrom, but knowing there's some value there if I do need him is nice.

I see. Is this league for money? If so, I'm guessing the rest of the guys in it don't like you very much. haha

Haha, no money. I went a little overkill at the end of last season setting myself up for a run.... There was a bigger gap between me and 2nd place than there was between 2nd and 14th.

Just kind of in cap hell right now.... I've already moved Voracek, Luongo, and Seth Jones.... Still gotta move two of Okposo, Nash, and Green.

Definitely... Only problem is I can't trade them, so they'd be drops. So do I drop them outright, or try to trade Okposo? I'm trying to work Okposo for Niederreiter and Aho right now.

If you don't get penalized for dropping players then there's no harm in trading Okposo now. Suppose you keep Nash you can drop him later if/when someone else emerges.
