I'll have to catch the highlights.

Here's hoping Portugal loses to Iceland today!

Wow... Iceland with the last minute winner!

Congratulations Portugal, you finished behind a team from a country with just over 50% of the population of Lisbon.

As an England fan I am now a tad concerned that our first knock-out game is against Iceland as losing that one would be the most England way possible to get eliminated.

England down 2-1 to Iceland early... because of they are apparently trying to do the double on inexplicable European exits this month.

Wow. Just wow. Maybe it's time soccer pundits stop claiming England as a world (or even European) power in soccer. Good on Iceland, but my god, that was a disgraceful performance.

    Called it.

England just Englanded harder than they had ever Englanded before!

Edit: They probably still won't fire Hodgson because, hey, he only picked the same terrible team over and over...

I have to disagree, at least it was not after penalties, which is the traditional way for England to get eliminated.

I don't know many knowledgable soccer people who still consider England to be one of the elite soccer powers. I think most people recognize they have fallen into the second tier at least.

The last time England sent out such an over-hyped but clearly flawed endeavour to take on the world it also plowed into a seven letter obstacle starting with ICE____.

I could have managed that team better than Hodgson... and I say that with no hyperbole.
