Points only I would go with Severson. I just don't think Larsson will ever be fantasy relevant in this format
Hey Guys,
In terms of RAW points and more PP Time who do you see progressing next year and why?
I am trying to decide who to go with in terms of POINTS only.
Thanks
Points only I would go with Severson. I just don't think Larsson will ever be fantasy relevant in this format

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
Larsson for me...their point totals are pretty equal and he will see more ice-time throughout the season. He has more defensive responsibilities but he's still the better player here.
This is a tough one. Larsson's usage is well documented but I'm certain if both were given a great opportunity to produce offensively Larsson would come out on top.
Do you have any alternatives to choose from? What is the context of this situation?

This is the key question. Picking between these two for fantasy purposes is like asking if someone wants to get shot in the right leg or left.
Larsson has turned into a non-offensive player with a miniscule OZ% and tons of SH Ice Time, while Severson strikes me as a player who'll never crack 25 points and be a fringe guy before too long. But if forced to choose between them, I'll take Severson since Larsson is signed though 2020-21, making it less likely he can escape his role with the Devils in time to salvage his career.

Severson. As someone who watched the Devils as much as he can, they love Larsson but they love to use him in defensive situations, and go "oh hey John Moore would do good on the PP because reasons"
With how well Severson played in the AHL playoffs for Albany, granted he's been in the NHL for two season and should dominate, it likely will give the coaching staff a more positive view on him than the previous season (which I would chalk up to a sophomore slump before writing him off). He basically played ~28 minutes a night for Albany, and (after a quick glance) was second on the team in both shots and points.
I also kind of agree with the above posts, where if you can get someone else with a better track record you probably should and if you can wait on Severson an extra round do it

I can't list my 2nd main keeper as there are too many players, but it is a keep all H2H points-only league
I would take Larsson. Better dman means more ice time which leads to more points.
I think Larsson. Neither will do much next season, but longer term I like Larsson's odds more. He's being treated strictly defensively, but his overall skill level should eventually open up the other doors
