Drafting 4 5 and 6...Marner is available and looking to take Tkachuk as well unless he lands in VAN (worst possible scenario imo).

We haven't had our keeper lock yet so there may be a few young drops made but not counting on too much by way of that route.

Does a guy take Dvorak, Connor, or whatever BPA is at that time?

I'd take Marner Connor, if you don't have a minors why take a guy who will probably get sent back? I'd try to deal Hanifin and pick 6 for a better defenceman.

It would be fun to grad the Knights trio, but I would have my list as:
Matthews, Laine, Marner, Puljujarvi, Connor, Dvorak, Tkachuk.

I do agree with Bazz however in saying it is worth it to shop 6 with a player for an upgrade elsewhere.

The way our league works is if we draft a player and he doesn't play we can keep him. However we cannot keep a player that doesn't play if we didn't draft him ie pick him off waivers. So I could conceivably keep Tkachuk if I drafted him.
Trading number 6 isn't as glamorousin our league..doesn't hold a lot of value.nor does Hanifin...yet

No disrespect to Dvorak as I'm very high on him since he plays like a pro, but I wouldn't take him this high in the draft.

Ya good question GD! Werenski, Provorov, Connor, Barzal, ... All those guys should be drafted but if Marner is still available (should have been number 3-4 taken last year), does that mean that 2015 draftees that should have been picked after are still up for grabs?

We can only keep drafted players that dont play in one of two scenarios:

You know your league and GMs better than I but I can't see how Dvorak is gone in the top 6 but Tkachuk is still available at 13. Anyways, I would go Marner/Puljujarvi (who ever doesn't go #3), Connor and then either Provorov or Dubois. That last one is a tough call but if Provorov is available, I would lean there since you're getting to high end offensive players at 4&5.

Call me crazy but seeing Provorov available I might take him at 6. Your defense is Risto Rielly Trouba Jones Hanifan as your top 5 since your scoring is point based with +/- and PIM. I could see Provorov stepping in and being either your 3rd or 4th best defenceman just depends on Trouba being dealt as well as Jones maturation. I also notice there is no SOG category which usually means Forwards > Defencemen.

I dunno..hahaha. I see Dvorak having a shot at getting playing time this year whereas Tkachuk is likely at least two yrs from a spot in the NHL. That's probly enough to keep other gms away for the first round. ..or like has been mentioned I could take Provo.

This is easily the youngest I have ever drafted as I typically take the proven 30yr Olds in a shot winning. Never had an intrst in the fresh picks until now.

I have to admit that since I started this thread I have done some reading here and at HF (also realized that Connor was available in my league ) so I am just piecing these guys together. There also may be one or two gems that fall from others rosters that I could take but then again maybe not.

Not even close to being part of the group of prospects listed earlier. With the added I would be drafting Dvorak at 6 and cross my fingers that Provo is available at 13.
