Default Traded Stamkos, did I make the right move?

    I gave: Stamkos

    I got: Doughty, Getzlaf & T. Rask

Other offer I was considering was I would've received Duchene + Subban but I also would've given up a 4th and 8th rounder for a 13th and 14th rounder (basically end of draft picks for somewhat useful/good picks)

My league stats are pretty common (G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, Hits; Wins, GAA, SV%, SO)

    Was this a good move?
    15-team keeper (keep 10) - G,A,+/-,PPP, Hits, Blocked Shots, W, SV%, Saves

Forwards - Kunin, Trenin, Eichel, Bjorkstrand, Boldy, Pastrnak, Boeser, Caufield, Laine, Crosby, Newhook, Konecny, Farabee, Rossi (NA)
Defenseman - Brodin, Hamilton, Zadorov, Severson, Forsling, Braun, Roy
Goalies - Sorokin, Hill, Varlamov, Daws

I think you did fine here. You got the #1 D you were lacking, a dependable G to pair with Holtby, and a solid replacement for Stamkos. It's a well executed trade that hit all the spots you needed.

I like the trade. My only thought is wondering if this fills up keeper slots and drops out someone else deserving. With keeper limits, it probably makes it a three for three with the two you would have to drop. Based on who they were it could swing the deal the other way.

I don't think it's the league in his sig since it has different stats there, and he already had Getz/doesn't have Stammer, Rask or Doughty.

I too think you did well - more than enough in return. I think DD was a very solid add on to your D-core. I think Holtby's minutes will be a tad more sheltered this coming year as I think he was taxed in the playoffs. Rask gives you another workhorse. Solid deal. I personally would have kept Stammer as i'm curious to where he goes...

That's a very solid return. Stamkos has returned to the pack since his 90 pt days.

Based on the deal itself it's a solid return.
What did your roster look like pre-trade and what's it look like post-trade?

I think Stamkos is a 65-70 point player moving forward so I'd be happy with that... Would I have waited for him to sign the Leafs and the potential hoopla that would cause? Possibly but I doubt you'd get much better

Imo it's an excellent trade, Getzlaf alone may be better than Stamkos (whose ceiling, I believe, is from now on 70 pts), but it's a 3-for-1, so I'm wondering: did you have to drop two other players, and if yes, who?

You did well here. I would've waited until he signs with Toronto. But still a great return

Not a fan of Rask - he may be a workhorse, but on a terrible team - but as a 3rd with the other 2 guys, you did fine.

All depends on who, if any, you had to drop to make room for the two additional players. In a keep-6 or less its probably not a great trade but in a deep keeper 10-dynatsy I think it's a really good move.

I do not think Stamkos is a 65-70 point player. I see him more as a ppg player with some extra sparks here and there. Needless to say, the return is way better than anything Stamkos can hit IMO. Getzlaf alone can match Stammer's numbers even if both guys bounce back. Doughty is a legit stud on your blue-line for years to come and Rask still has great seasons left in the tank.

Great move cizastro (unless as LawMan points out, you have a very limited keeper number and 2/3 of these guys end up being rentals...)

LawMan hits the nail on the head here. Depends on how your keepers were pre & post trade. It looks like a great haul but seems to be a limited keeper in which 2 of the 3 pieces were likely easily dispensable assets. So depends how the rest of your roster is.

I think this was a very sound hockey trade for you fella. Addressed some needs you had and while you did get a little older up front, Getz should be very serviceable for a few more years!
