although personally I would swap the Fins as I think Puljujarvi will be the better player, but given the monster Laine hype the trade value alone bumps him higher.

I'd put Matthews 1st overall but 2nd, 3rd and 4th could go in any conglomeration between Nylander, Laine and/or Puljujarvi.
It's hard to say because I put Nylander right in line with the two FIN's.

I think Nylander should take the 3rd spot and Laine the 2nd. It is close from 2-4 so i guess it could go either way, but that's how I would rank them.Originally Posted by Axeman33

just loving seeing the potential of 3 leaf prospects in the top 6 argueably. I don't recall ever seeing that in recent memory as the leafs almost invariably always traded away their top picks and/or just didn't draft well.
I hope this means change because a quality Leaf's team will be good for the NHL as a whole IMO.

All of the Oilers top prospects are already playing in the NHL.just loving seeing the potential of 3 leaf prospects in the top 6 argueably. I don't recall ever seeing that in recent memory as the leafs almost invariably always traded away their top picks and/or just didn't draft well.
I hope this means change because a quality Leaf's team will be good for the NHL as a whole IMO.

yeah... they all seem to start there. The Oilers haven't had a prospect pool percolating below the Majors for equally as long a time!

They tried keeping Nurse down there last year but injuries pretty much forced their hand.

sure they did. Klefbom too. But their forwards they had an open door policy for other than Leo.
My point is less about them trying to keep 1 or 2 down (remember...I'm a fan) but more about the Leaf's actually legitimately having a pool of upwards of 3 elite to star level prospects in the top 6 - 10 at the same time going into next season. I mean when has that ever happened (and who where they)? Honestly... I don't have the time and energy to start, nor would I know what ear to look in. lol
That is what I find impressive. (while the Oilers COULD have had the most dominant pool of prospects if Hall, RNH, Yakupov were all in the minors before they took the jump) lol

I would list them as 1. Matthews, 2. Nylander, 3. Laine, 4. Puljujarvi, 5. Marner, 6. Strome
I have Nylander at 2 as he has already played in the NHL and didn't look out of place. Laine/Puljujarvi are inter-changeable in my mind. Marner moves ahead of Strome based on his play in the OHL playoffs.
I have to agree with Havanablast - seeing 3 leafs in the top 6 is exciting
