Default Philadelphia goalie of the future!

I'm looking to the Philadelphia team and I'm impressed with the young NHL ready talent they got. With the young offense and the future stud at D with Ghostibehere and Provorov, not forget to mention Hagg, Morin,Sanheim....I think they will win more games in the future and be tougher to play against.
I'm looking to draft the future goalie of the franchise (2-3 years from now) assuming they will go with goaltender in the pipeline of the team.
Which goalie do you thinks will be a Matt Murray of this franchise? thx guys!

which one do you bet will be the one?!

    Alex Lyon
    Anthony Stolarz
    Merrick Madsen
    Felix Sandstrom
    Matej Tomek
    Ivan Fedotov

As we all know, prospect goalies are the biggest crap shoot. If I had to lay down bets, I'd say Sandstrom or Tomek but who the hell really know. It could be none of the above.

    I'll go with Stolarz.
Hextall played three seasons in the WHL and then two in the AHL before getting his time with big club.
Stolarz has been solid in two seasons with Lehigh Valley.
Next year will be his 3rd in the AHL... and 3 years seems to be the current "Growth" time for goalies in the A.
Anything longer is too long, time to give them an NHL shot.

Mason & Neuvirth are both UFAs next summer (2017).
I say Hextall keeps Neuvirth (because he's a Hextall signing) and let's Mason go (a Holmgren signing).
Personally, I think Neuvirth is a better goalie anyways.

    Neuvirth(1a)/Stolarz(1b)

Steve Mason is only 27 so he probably has 8 years left, I don't see them switching things up, but it could happen (I agree with axeman above). I'd probably pick Stolarz right now, and a long-shot being Tomek/Sandstrom because they are voodoo

    Stolarz for me
I don't hate Mason, but he's not the answer. Stolarz could easily steal the job from him. Neuvirth had it stolen from him this year, but was too fragile to hang onto it.

I know goalie isn't a exact science but it worth the gambling! In my pool if the goaltender isn't draft really soon you can't get it.. Stolarz is possibly the more nhl ready prospect in net I can acquire... thx everyone for rep!

It's the Flyers, the will never have a good goalie and if the do, they will chase him out of town. Mason is the best they had for years and he seems to be on the way out after one below average season.

I don't really understand where all that impatience comes from, but it must be from deep inside the franchise. Not sure i would really like for goalie help in Philly.

I'd say Stolarz is the best bet to make an impact as soon as next season but Sandstrom is still the best long term option.

No one pegged Murray to be in this position for the Penguins 2 yrs ago.

No one knew the name Sparks for the Leafs 2 yrs ago

Dubnyk was an afterthought bust 3 yrs ago

At one point Rinne and Lundquist were just big foreign goalies drafted by NHL teams.

One of the more coveted goalies on the market (Andersen) was drafted twice before getting on an NHL team. (187th 2010, 87th 2012)

You can’t predict goalies further than a year when it comes to the young guys.

I don't like the label "goalie of the future" because very few prospects actually qualify. But out of this group I prefer Stolarz by a fair margin. He is closest and I feel he's as talented as the others.

as has been stated multiple times above, it's really hard to project goalie prospects. but in this case, it's really, really hard. the flyers have so many goalie prospects, and none of them really stand out that much over the others. mason has the net for a while, stolarz is gonna get the first shot of the prospects, but I don't see him as any more than a nhl backup. sandstrom probably has the most potential of the group, but potential doesn't mean too much when it comes to goalie prospects. some posters above said to keep an eye on alex lyon, and personally, i'd keep an eye on merrick madsen. he had an amazing year in the ncaa as well. i'd say that tomek is a bit behind the others (besides fedotov) since he missed most of the year due to injury.

With how random goalies are, it will probably end up being Fedotov. The guy is 6'6", a 7th round pick, and a bit of a mystery playing overseas. So obviously he will be the one.
