Dynasty Goalie choice: Blackwood vs Husso

if you were in a keep forever league and needed to either select one or both to keep what would you do?

Id prefer not to keep one of them.

Please advise.

Both are very volatile at this point but I prefer Blackwood slightly. Husso's numbers are awesome but I think the Devils plan on grooming MB as the next guy after Schneider.

On a side note, I usually tend to go for AHL goalies or NCAA goalies as they have more experience/maturity which is key for a goalie to make the NHL. Young junior goalies have so many hurdles in front of them so their paths to the big league can quickly change.

Prefer Blackwood too, if only because of his situation.

i disagree with the above posters. blackwood projects as the better goalie, but he's stuck behind corey Schneider for at least 5 years. husso has a fairly strong path to the starter's job in st. louis. Elliott will be gone after next season, and allen hasn't proved himself. husso is the top goalie prospect in the system, and he's close to nhl ready. binnington and Copley didn't have good seasons, so husso is next in line.

I wouldn't keep either. I dont keep goalies this young at this stage in their career. Most of them aren't worth anything. Neither will be fantasy relevant in 3 years.


BUT if you had to keep someone give me Husso all day.

Neither are super great options and distant from fantasy relevant. Husso has more competition in STL but Blackwood needs to beat out Wedgewood, who is the better goaltender.

Only because of the fewer number of goaltenders in the NJ system would I say Blackwood but certainly there has to be better options to own. Neither one are the prospect goalie to own for their respective teams.

I'd keep Husso. I think he will open some eyes next year in the AHL.
